There is something about walking and talking at the same time that has enabled me to make
sense of myself so much more than talking alone has. When I am walking with Helen, the
place that I am walking through becomes a part of my thinking. Not only does the natural
setting help me to relax and feel more comfortable regarding the difficulties and challenges I
am working through, but it also enables me to leave certain thoughts and feelings in the
landscape, to stop and sit down for a while whilst dealing with a particular emotion, or
returning to familiar stream or a rock as a way to connect different moments of my healing
journey together. I can honestly say that my time spent with Helen has been the best
investment I have ever made. Through her compassionate and diligent attention, in
collaboration with the presence of the natural world, I have progressed my mental health in
ways I had never thought possible. I would highly recommend Helen to anybody, whether
they're outdoorsy or not, thinking about taking the next step on their journey towards self
care and understanding.

Helen & I have worked together over a few years now, & my gratitude goes far beyond the
relief of receiving support in dark times. Helen has met every side of me with space,
calmness & unwavering patience, & has so subtly yet powerfully given me the grace to move
through some of the hardest experiences over the past few years. To be heard by not only a
trusted confidant & support, but by the quiet witness of the woods & the water too, watching
the nature ever changing & growing each week, is a feeling of being held that has been not
only a sanctuary from the chaos of ‘real life’, but also to the deeply human experience of
learning & healing alongside nature. To watch the seasons cycle & see the beauty of
nature’s constant death & rebirth, is to be reminded in how to find peace in our own ebbs &
flows of life, to hold ourselves through each loss knowing we will grow again.

"Outdoor therapy with Helen is wonderful because unlike sitting in a therapy office, the
woods that we go to can vary wildly from session to session; to which animals are around or
how fast the rivers flowing, to the changes in the season such as leaves falling or flowers
blooming or puddles being about after rain. In the event you're like me and can't really focus
in small rooms that feel far too crowded even with only two people in them, it's quite freeing!
Plus, as a person that rarely goes outside unless prompted, it means that I actually get some
sunlight and exercise hours in instead of being in my room all day; forever a bonus!"

Online L.G

I came to Helen after a difficult few weeks prompted me to investigate therapy again after a fairly significant pause. Helen was instantly welcoming and understanding and I found it very easy to be open and honest in our communication. She has been flexible with my sometimes erratic schedule and I found her to be incredibly supportive and empathetic to the things I bought to her. She always gave me space to explore difficult topics and gently encouraged me to look deeper and make connections. I have really valued our sessions and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her as a therapist.

Outdoor S.P

I do look back with gratitude for those walks we took. Apart from the lovely surroundings, I did feel a sense of being listened to and validated in my outpourings, which was very uplifting.

I so loved the idea of being outdoors and moving, which is so different to other counselling situations, and your gentle presence and interest were perfect.
